Reimagining Robertson Road: Robertson Road Walkshop
To kick off the Reimagining Robertson Road project, we will be hosting a Robertson Road ‘Walkshop’ on Saturday, June 28th starting at 11 AM. The meeting place is Bells Corners Public School Parking Lot (3770 Old Richmond Road). Mobycon, our consultants for this project, will be leading a walking-based workshop or ‘Walkshop’ along Robertson Road to learn more about resident priorities and dreams for this road. The Walkshop will help provide essential community-grounded feedback and perspectives that will support next steps in our community consultation processes.
Walk details:
- The anticipated walk will be 1 – 1.5 km and should take roughly 90 minutes.
- The planned route is for the group to walk to Robertson Road from Bells Corners Public School, then head west on Robertson until Moodie Drive. We will then walk back down Robertson Road to head back to Bells Corners Public School off Old Richmond Road.
- To ensure opportunities for engagement and good discussion, we will be splitting participants into two different groups to be led on the same tour by our consultants at Mobycon.
- The walk will be done at a low pace, with planned stops along the way to rest and chat. The route is also wheelchair accessible.
Things to consider in preparation of the Walkshop:
- Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes and footwear, as the guided walk is expected to take 90 minutes.
- Other recommended items to bring are:
- Water or something to drink
- Snacks
- Sunscreen or hat
- Children are welcome to take part in this walk! With Robertson Road being a busy road, and with this being a long walk, our staff will be focused on coordination and leading the walk. We encourage parents and guardians to plan/prepare accordingly for you and your kids' participation.
Please RSVP if you are interested in participating in the Walkshop. If you have any accessibility support needs that you would like to share with us in our planning for the Walkshop, or any questions more generally about the Walkshop, please send us an email at [email protected].
